About Pokémon Generations
Pokémon Generations was released on 22 February 2016 as a special expansion celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. Unlike a standard expansion, Generations booster packs were primarily available through special anniversary collection boxes, Mythical Pokémon collections and selected premium products.
The main Generations set contains 83 numbered cards, while the accompanying Radiant Collection contains 32 additional cards numbered from RC1/RC32 to RC32/RC32. This creates a combined checklist of 115 individually numbered cards before reverse holo and other set variations are considered.
Generations celebrates Pokémon’s history by featuring many original Kanto favourites, including Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, Pikachu, Gengar, Snorlax and the Legendary Birds. The set also includes Pokémon-EX, Mega Evolution cards, full-art cards and a colourful Radiant Collection featuring popular Pokémon such as Sylveon, Flareon and Gardevoir.

The Generations Radiant Collection
The Radiant Collection is one of the most distinctive features of Pokémon Generations. It consists of 32 separately numbered cards with decorative artwork, colourful backgrounds and designs focused on the personalities and relationships of different Pokémon.
The subset runs from Chikorita RC1/RC32 to Sylveon-EX RC32/RC32 and includes popular cards featuring Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Flareon, Pikachu, Sylveon and Gardevoir.
Many Radiant Collection cards use special holographic patterns and full-art illustrations that give them a different appearance from cards in the main Generations set. These cards are especially popular with collectors building character collections, Eevee Evolution binders or complete anniversary sets.
Pokémon Generations Chase Cards
Some of the most sought-after Generations cards appear within the Radiant Collection. Pikachu RC29/RC32 features a colourful full-art design with multiple Pikachu, while Flareon-EX RC28/RC32, Gardevoir-EX RC30/RC32, M Gardevoir-EX RC31/RC32 and Sylveon-EX RC32/RC32 form an impressive run of full-art cards at the end of the subset.
The Radiant Collection Charizard RC5/RC32 is another popular card because of its nostalgic artwork and connection to the Charmander and Charmeleon cards that precede it.
The main set also contains highly collectable cards such as M Charizard-EX 12/83, along with full-art-style Articuno 25/83 and Zapdos 29/83. The presence of Charizard, Pikachu, Eevee Evolutions and the original Kanto starters gives Generations broad appeal among Pokémon collectors.

Completing a Pokémon Generations Master Set
A complete numbered Pokémon Generations collection contains 83 main-set cards and 32 Radiant Collection cards, creating a total of 115 individually numbered cards.
A broader Generations master set may also include all available reverse holo versions from the main set, alongside the standard cards, holographic rares, Pokémon-EX, Mega Evolution cards and the complete Radiant Collection.
The Radiant Collection cards do not have standard reverse holo versions in the same way as the eligible cards from the main set. Collectors should therefore use separate checklists for the 83-card main set and the 32-card Radiant Collection when organising a complete binder.
Because Generations booster packs are no longer widely available, purchasing individual singles is usually the easiest way to find the exact cards missing from your collection.
Pokémon Generations Booster Packs
Generations booster packs were not originally sold through standard individual booster boxes. Instead, they were mainly included in special products released throughout the Pokémon 20th Anniversary celebrations.
These products included Mythical Pokémon Collections, Red & Blue Collection boxes, an Elite Trainer Box and the Mew & Mewtwo Super Premium Collection.
Each Generations booster pack contained cards from both the main set and the Radiant Collection. Because the expansion is now out of print, sealed packs and anniversary collection products have become increasingly difficult to find.
